If you are looking to start working in the dog grooming industry, or are already working within a grooming salon and want the qualification, then our courses will be an ideal entry into this industry.
Our courses are aimed at the beginner wanting to learn commercial skills to enable them to begin a career in dog grooming or for the capable groomer wanting a recognised qualification to accompany their skills.
Our dog grooming salon is open to commercial clients, and we have over 5,000 dogs passing through each academic year. The industry-standard setup contains modern equipment and kit such as hydrobaths, dryers, and electric tables, as well as a wide variety of products for our students to use.
The team is always after dogs of any variety to help support our students in their lessons and assessments. All grooms cost just £10 and are supervised by our qualified dog groomers to ensure a salon quality groom.

You will learn to prepare prior to bathing and how to handle and restrain dogs of all sizes and temperaments correctly and safely. You will learn scissor and clipping skills along with different bathing and drying techniques. You will be taught how to maintain and clean your equipment along with salon Biosecurity. You will gain industry knowledge and customer service skills and all vital and relevant theory to accompany the development of skills.
You will be assessed via an online test and will complete practical written assessments to test your knowledge and understanding.
You dont just need to have left school to become an apprentice, we have apprenticeship offers for all ages and are a great way for adults to retrain for a new career. Whatever destination you’ve set your sights on, an apprenticeship will help you get there.
