The brand-new facilities at Rodbaston and Tamworth Colleges will allow you to gain knowledge and your qualifications using our training vehicles and groundbreaking VR technology.

Currently less than 10% of vehicle technicians are qualified to work on electric vehicles, there is certainly a skills shortage which you can help fill.

The course will be delivered through a variety of means from classroom based theory taught through traditional and virtual reality methods to workshop practical tasks. You will learn how to safely work on and around the electric/hybrid vehicles high voltage systems to ensure you are ready for the future of transport.

Key information

You will achieve a nationally recognised qualification enabling you to work on and around electric/hybrid vehicles, you will gain the skills and confidence to work on the systems and carry out safe isolation, removal and replacement of components in our state-of-the-art training spaces.

You will be provided with a range of learning opportunities to practice your newly acquired skills before completing your practical assessment on the vehicles. Knowledge is tested by a multiple choice online exam.

PPE will need to be worn in the workshops, further details of these requirements being provided at enrolment.
