If you are passionate about animals and improving their health and well-being, consider a career in veterinary care. Working alongside highly skilled individuals you will care for a wide range of patients and help to inform and support their owners.

This qualification has been developed for learners seeking a specialised qualification in animal nursing. The qualification is held in high regard in veterinary practices. It develops practical skills in animal care and management, while offering additional opportunities to hone customer service skills in a retail environment. Students could be employed, non-employer or voluntary status, but must have gained experience in a veterinary practice.

Key information

You will achieve a nationally recognised qualification at level 2 which will help you progress to your chosen career in veterinary practice and if you need to you will be able to improve your GCSE Maths and English grades.

You will develop a greater understanding of caring for animals and you will quickly become confident in handling animals through our hands-on practical sessions and extensive work experience. You’ll experience a varied learning environment which includes learning in the classroom and enjoyable practical sessions.
