Transport

Transport to Rodbaston from September 2021 onwards couldn’t be easier with local designated pickups.

We offer routes from Stoke to Great Barr solely for South Staffordshire College students. We also have pickups from train stations at Stoke and Tame Bridge Parkway Walsall.

  • Transport Information 2021-2022

    Transport to Rodbaston from September could not be easier with local pickup points throughout Staffordshire and South Staffordshire area.

    We also have a dedicated network of bus routes into campus from areas of the West Midlands and Staffordshire and many others too numerous to mention. South Staffordshire College transport department can get you here.

    All drivers are DBS checked, with CCTV operational on the majority of routes. All College minibuses are fitted with tracking systems, safety belts and a college employed driver.

    If the route you require is operated by a College minibus please complete the online application form. Once you have checked the details are correct submit the form. The online form will be open to all new and existing students from w/c 5th July 2021. To secure your place you will need to pay the first fee by 25th August 2021.

    A seat cannot be allocated for any route until payment is received. All applications must be received by 2nd September 2021 to secure a place for the start of the academic year.

    The network of routes operated by our transport partners Coastal Liner, Midland Classic, and Select Travel Services offer students the opportunity to pay on a daily basis (pay and ride). All students can apply to the College bursary fund to help towards payment of the fees due for transport.

    College Route MB1: Burton, Uttoxeter, Abbots Bromley, Lichfield
    College Route MB2: Meir, Stoke, Newcastle, Stone, Eccleshall, Gnosall
    College Route MB3: Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Wombourne
    College Route MB4: Tame Bridge, Great Barr, Queslett, Stone Cross, Kingstanding
    College Route MB5: Newport, Donnington, Wellington, Albrighton, Perton, Codsall
    College Route MB6: Hilderstone, Weston, Great Haywood, Little Haywood, Wolseley Bridge

    All routes operated by South Staffordshire College are liable to last minute changes to timings and pick up points.

    The following routes are externally operated by Coastal Liner, Select Bus Services and Midland Classic

    Coastal Liner

    Route 801: Dudley, Coseley, Sedgley, Bilston
    Route 802: Darlaston, Wednesbury, Bentley, New Invention, Scotlands, Featherstone

    NB: Cash only for payment of fare on Routes 801 and 802.

    Route 803: Pelsall, Walsall, Aldridge, Bloxwich, Great Wyrley
    Route 804:
    Sutton Coldfield, Mere Green, Four Oaks, Brownhills
    Route 809:
    Bridgnorth, Telford, Madeley, Shifnal, Wheaton Aston
    Route 817: Rugeley Area, Hednesford, Cannock

    Costs for college operated routes

    Please check the Transport routes timetable for costs for college operated transport routes. If you are an existing student, your route will not be affected. If you require further information, please email transport@southstaffs.ac.uk.

    Costs for externally operated routes 

    Please contact Coastal Liner, Select Bus Services or Midland Classic for full cost details.

    Commercial bus routes

    All routes prefixed with the number ‘8’ (e.g. Route 813) are pay and ride (day ticket), and the daily fee shown for the route on the timetable is the fee payable. There are no termly passes available for commercial bus routes.

    For some college students transport may be fully or partially funded subject to bursary funding. Find out more information here.
