Located on the top floor of our new Tamworth College town centre campus, TAM-AIR is our very own mock airline.
Our specialist travel facilities include authentic airline seats, a drinks trolley, check-in desk, departures screen, baggage area, and security screening, as well as two large dedicated classrooms.
TAM-AIR brings the world of travel and tourism to life at college, allowing students to immerse themselves in a simulated aviation environment and enjoy an exciting, realistic airport and airline experience.
During your time with us, you will have the exciting opportunity to experience the world of travel and tourism firsthand.
Trips and visits are a key (and fun!) part of our courses, helping you to develop skills, knowledge, confidence, and independence linked to your units and assessments, while also enjoying some fabulous days out.
Each year, there are visits to UK tourist attractions, a cabin crew training day, and an overseas trip. Most are mandatory and must be paid for and attended. If you are eligible for financial support, these costs will be covered.

The travel industry is one of the most important contributors to the UK economy and an exciting industry to work in. The industry supports diverse and exciting opportunities for employment such as; cabin crew, travel agents and resort representatives.
You will be taught and assessed by many different methods I.e role play, group work, presentation, blogs, video and some assignment work. You will be involved in a variety of trips that are relevant to the course ie, international visits, high profile hotel chains and airline companies.
The course develops individuals, their confidence, communication, academic and customer service-based skills that will support them in their application to university or employment within the industry.
Alongside the main study programme, you will get the opportunity to complete additional employable qualifications such as Cabin Crew and Aviation Operations.
You will be required to purchase a uniform, details of which will be provided at enrolment.
Furthermore, we will invite you into taster sessions prior to course starting to allow you to experience what college will be like and to meet and greet your new class mates and teachers.
