Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Training – Level 4 (4 Day Course)

  • Is this course for you?

    This qualification is designed for motor vehicle professionals who maintain and repair Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) technologies, including HEV drive and batteries. The course will give technicians the knowledge and skills to be able to work on or near LIVE high voltage HEV.

    This course contains information for carrying out diagnosis, repairs, and replacement of high voltage components whilst working safely.

    Course cost is £850 (no VAT to pay).

  • Required qualifications

    This course is open to any candidate with an existing level 3 or has undertaken our level 2 and level 3 Electric and hybrid training courses.

  • What skills will I develop?

    Course Content

    • HV safety overview

    • E machine/motor generator HV Insulation testing

    • Batteries

    • HV control System relays, DC DC converter

    • Propulsion

    • Assessment preparation

    • Practical assessment

    • Written assignment (min. 1000 words) to be completed within 4 weeks of practical assessment

  • Careers

    After completion of the course, you will have the knowledge and understanding to work safely on hybrid and electric vehicles.

  • Other important information

    Workshop sessions will require steel toe capped boots, overalls and safety glasses, gloves and barrier cream will be provided. Candidates will also need a small pocket sized notebook a pen/pencil for making notes, sketches and taking technical information while working through practical tasks.

    Candidates without the required PPE will not be able to participate in practical sessions. No food, hot drinks or fizzy pop are to be consumed in the classrooms or workshop areas.
