  • Is this course for you?

    This 3-day course is designed for existing level 3 qualified motor vehicle mechanics or those who have completed our level 2 programme. 

    This award is designed for technicians who maintain and repair hybrid technology vehicles, but not the hybrid system itself. It contains the knowledge required to work safely around a vehicle’s hybrid system, whilst carrying out repairs or maintenance. 

    On completing this ‘single unit’ qualification, technicians will have gained both the knowledge of high voltage hybrid technologies and an understanding of their dangers. 

    The content of this qualification has been designed to give you the knowledge and skills required to work safely on Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying out diagnostic, testing and repair activities. This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system.

    The cost of the course is £699 there is no VAT to pay

  • Required qualifications

    This course is open to any candidate with an existing level 3 or has undertaken our Electric and hybrid vehicle level 2, 2 day training course.  

  • What skills will I develop?

    This course contains two mandatory units EV2.2 and EV3.

    EV2.2 covers all of the skills and knowledge from IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles Routine Maintenance Activities and EV3 covers skills in:

    • working safely on an electric/hybrid vehicle
    • using information to carry out the task
    • carrying out repairs on high energy electrical systems
    • recording information and making suitable recommendations
  • Careers

    After completion of the course, you will have the knowledge and understanding to work safely on hybrid and electric vehicles. 

  • Other important information

    Workshop sessions will require steel toe capped boots, overalls and safety glasses, gloves and barrier cream will be provided. Candidates will also need a small pocket sized notebook a pen/pencil for making notes, sketches and taking technical information while working through practical tasks. 

    Candidates without the required PPE will not be able to participate in practical sessions. No food, hot drinks or fizzy pop are to be consumed in the classrooms or workshop areas.
