There are lots of FREE courses available studying in small class sizes at your local college (Rodbaston in Penkridge, Cannock, Tamworth, Torc, or Lichfield) with our friendly tutors. As well as lots of courses available to study online from the comfort of your home!
Free digital courses
At the time of publishing, these were the free digital courses on offer for everyone. As of 1st August 2022, these courses are no longer free for everyone, however depending on your individual circumstances, they could still be free. Please get in touch to discuss your personal circumstances and see if you are eligible for a free course.
Whether you’re looking to improve your digital skills to make your work or home life easier, or embark on a new career path, there are tons of digital courses on offer at South Staffordshire College which you can study for FREE!
Pick from a range of courses including cyber security, essential digital skills, coding, 2D game character design, 3D modelling, cloud computing, computer networking fundamentals, data and web analytics, UI/UX, web server applications and Microsoft Office Specialist courses in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Free English and maths
Want to improve your English and maths skills? Why not study a functional skills or GCSE English and / or maths course with us. We offer daytime, evening and online classes so you can study at a time that suits you. If you don’t hold a grade C/4 in these subjects, then you could study these courses with us for free!
Free distance learning courses
Looking for some personal or professional development courses that you can study from the comfort of your own home? South Staffordshire College offers a huge number of distance learning courses which are all free when completed within 12 weeks.
Choose from a wide variety of courses in subjects such as health, care, children and young people, mental health, IT and digital, workplace and business and health and fitness.
Free level 1 and 2 qualifications
If you are aged 19 – 23 you could study your first level 1 or 2 qualifications with us for free. We have lots of courses to choose from in career areas such as business and accounting, digital, early years, health and social care, landbased and animal, beauty, and trades.
Free level 3 courses
Did you know that if you are aged 19+ you can access free level 3 qualifications to gain valuable skills needed to enhance your job prospects via the National Skills Fund which is part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee.
Courses are open to all adults, regardless of whether you are currently in work or have recently become unemployed. National Skills Fund courses available at South Staffordshire College include accounting, understanding autism, understanding mental health, advanced welding skills and engineering technologies.
