Criminology Progression

    This is a progression course for those who have attended the Introduction to Criminology course where learners have been gaining knowledge of the theory behind criminal behaviour, about new age crime and how the justice system tackles this.

  • Required qualifications

    No formal qualifications are required.

  • What skills will I develop?

    Learners will explore in more depth the knowledge and skills needed to become a criminologist researcher, and other pathways that Criminology can lead a person to. Learners will engage in criminological debates, analyse case studies and gain an understanding of how and why crime takes place, as well as how society tackles this.

  • Careers

    Including progression onto qualifications and volunteering opportunities.

    Applied Diploma Level 3/Certificate/A-Level/Degree in Criminology.

    Volunteering opportunities in Victim Support/ New Bridge Pen Pal/ Reintegration Mentor/ Appropriate Adult/ Out of court Panelist.

    There are currently more than 500 opportunities for careers within criminology within the West Midlands with an average salary of £29,938.

    Criminology offers a wide range of career opportunities such as probation officer, criminal psychologist, criminal profiler or jury consultant.

    This course is for adults aged 19+.

    You will require a notebook and pen.
