South Staffordshire College is delighted to announce that it will be a delivery partner to the new Digital Technical Excellence College (DTEC), led by Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMET), bringing new opportunities for young people and adults across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

This designation means that colleges and independent training providers across the region will offer even more industry‑leading courses and experiences in digital and technology subjects. Provision will span priority areas including artificial intelligence, cyber security, software development and health technologies. Students will benefit from access to high‑quality facilities, practical, hands‑on learning, and real‑world employer engagement — helping to prepare them for the jobs of the future.

Kirk Hookham, Deputy Chief Executive at South Staffordshire College, said: “We are proud to be working in partnership with Birmingham Metropolitan College as a delivery partner within the Digital Technical Excellence College. This collaboration creates a significant opportunity to strengthen digital skills provision across the West Midlands, ensuring learners develop the technical expertise and industry‑relevant experience that employers need. By working together, we can widen access to high‑quality digital education, support innovation and productivity, and create clear progression routes into skilled digital careers.”
