The beauty industry has a large cross-section of people in it, from theatrical makeup experts working in the film industry through to people running and managing their own salons – something for everyone, basically!

As part of their qualifications, our students will be building up a client base so our salon will be open to the public for body treatments, facial treatments and manicures! So, if you are in the Tamworth area, come and see us right in the middle of the town centre to help our students gain real-world experience.

Key information

Beauty courses at South Staffs equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the beauty industry. Training takes place in a practical working environment in training/commercial salons.

As well as achieving a recognised qualification in beauty therapy English and maths skills are developed. These are integral to gaining employment and are included on every study programme to support development and progression.

Work placement is an essential part of the study programme and all students will be expected to complete an appropriate work placement related to their full-time course.

Part-time courses

If you are an adult aged 19+ thinking of starting a new career working in the beauty industry, we have some fantastic part-time courses starting that will give you the knowledge and skills to help make that happen!

We have our general level 2 beauty therapy certificate that covers a range of topics as well as shorter, specialist courses in Eyelash and Brow Treatments, Facial Massage and Skincare, Manicure Treatments, Pedicure Treatments, Nail Technology and Waxing!

We have both daytime and evening options available in our brand-new salon at Tamworth College!
