Claire’s career in Higher Education spans over a decade, during which she has undertaken a range of roles across teaching, academic leadership, and educational development. She has worked extensively within universities in the UK, supporting curriculum design, enhancing teaching practice, and leading on initiatives to improve student experience and academic outcomes. Claire currently works as an Educational Developer at the University of Staffordshire, where she collaborates with academic teams across disciplines to strengthen pedagogical practice, inclusive teaching, and assessment design.
Alongside her professional role, Claire is undertaking doctoral study focused on policy enactment in higher education. Her research critically explores how policy is interpreted, negotiated, and enacted in everyday academic practice, with particular attention to the experiences of staff within complex institutional environments. Her wider research interests include generative AI in higher education, talent retention, and the evolving nature of academic work, with a focus on bridging research, policy, and practice.
