  • Is this course for you?

If you’re passionate about sport and boxing and want to turn that passion into a career, this course is your perfect starting point.

Delivered by our college in partnership with Tamworth Boxing Club, this programme combines the nationally recognised NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Sport with the elite DiSE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence) boxing pathway. It’s a unique opportunity to develop both academically and athletically.

You’ll study key topics like anatomy and physiology, sports coaching, fitness training, and psychology for performance—giving you a solid foundation in sport science and the skills employers and universities value. At the same time, you’ll train like a high-performance athlete under the guidance of England Boxing-qualified coaches, developing your boxing technique, tactical awareness, and physical conditioning.

This dual approach means you don’t have to choose between education and sport—you can excel in both. Whether your goal is to compete at a high level, become a coach, or work in the wider sport and fitness industry, this course sets you on the right path.

You’ll also gain essential life skills: teamwork, leadership, communication, and discipline. Plus, with access to real-world experiences like volunteering, work placements, and event planning, you’ll build a CV that stands out.

If you’re aged 16–19, committed to boxing, and ready to push yourself in and out of the ring, this course is for you.

  • What skills will I develop?

By enrolling in the NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Sport (Boxing Academy), you’ll gain a strong foundation in both the theory and practice of sport and physical activity. You’ll explore key topics such as anatomy and physiology, fitness training, sports coaching, psychology, and nutrition—giving you the knowledge to understand how the body works and how to support performance and wellbeing. Alongside this, you’ll develop essential skills that are highly valued in the sport and fitness industry, including communication, leadership, teamwork, planning, and problem-solving.
