Is this course for you?

It is a legal requirement for anyone using a chainsaw to hold a chainsaw licence. We can help to achieve this by delivering the NPTC level 2 award in chainsaw operations. The course will train and assess you in the maintenance of a chainsaw and cross cutting using the chainsaw.
What skills will I develop?

You will increase your skills and knowledge in:
- Health and safety
- Chain maintenance
- Appropriate PPE
- Dealing with hung up trees
- Crosscutting

After completing this course you could be a:
- Tree surgeon
Other important information

You must be a minimum age of 16 years old. You will be asked to provide your own PPE but chainsaws will be provided by the college for the purpose of training and assessment.

This work is partly based outdoors so appropriate clothing should be worn.
