  • Is this course for you?

Within this course, students will learn the art of illustration. They will be taught the key elements of illustration including the media, tools and skills needed to bring their ideas to life. Illustration is a ‘fun’ branch of art that really lets you bring the magical and childlike ideas to your page- where there isn’t such thing as a mistake- only charm. Students will learn how to illustrate objects, nature, buildings, characters and animals and how to master creating charming drawings to be proud of. Illustration can be used to create pieces for yourself, brilliant gifts or bring a story or idea to life on a page.

Throughout the course, students will receive instruction on some of the basic methods of illustration including nature, architecture, characters, animals and objects and how to finish a piece. They will learn how to use ink, outlines and colour to bring their own pieces to life. They will have the opportunity to use what they learn to create their own stories, art pieces, cards or work on their own project with supervision.
