If you currently work in the health and social care industry, are aged 19 or above, and want a recognised Level 3 qualification, then this is the course for you.
Adult Care Workers are frontline staff who help adults with their care and support needs to live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives and achieve personal goals.
To apply for this course, you will need to already be employed in a senior role within the care industry, and there are a range of job roles that this course is suitable for including: Care Officer, Care Supervisor, Senior Care Worker, Supervising Care Worker, Senior Support Worker, Relief Team Leader, Social Work Assistant, Social Services Officer, Outreach Development Worker, Community Support Worker, Community Outreach Worker, Community Development Worker, Family Support Worker, or Personal Assistant. These roles could include a variety of specialisms such as learning disabilities, mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, homecare, dementia, and end-of-life care.
Please note that the course is free for those who:
- Live in a Staffordshire postcode and earn less than £25,750 per year
- Live in a West Midlands Combined Authority postcode and earn less than £34,149 per year
If you fall into one of these categories, please ignore the payment screen after you have submitted your application. If you earn over the threshold, you are still able to do the course but would either have to pay for it yourself or get your employer to pay for it. You would be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help cover the cost of the course, and you can read more about the different financial support on offer at the college here.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care.
