    The level 2 certificate in creating a business start-up is designed to be a gentle learning approach, for learners who are aspiring to develop their own personal and professional knowledge of this subject. The skills developed on this course will give you an introduction to creating a positive business start-up plan, gain an understanding of initial steps and marketing your business start-up, understand the resources required, to include carrying out market research and creating a unique brand. You will be introduced to the legal and financial considerations for a new business, by exploring tax, employment, data protection and managing working capital.

  • Required qualifications

    There are no formal entry requirements, however, a good level of literacy is required in order to complete these qualifications – reading, writing and comprehension, as these are knowledge-based qualifications. You need to be able to understand what you have read within the learning materials and answer the assessment questions in your own words and in full sentences.

  • What skills will I develop?

    This qualification consists of 4 units:

    • Initial steps for a business start-up
    • Marketing for a business start-up
    • Legal and financial considerations when starting a business
    • How to develop a business plan

    Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will be awarded the NCFE Level 2 certificate in Creating a Business Start-up.

  • Careers

    • Level 2 AAT Accounting Certificate
    • Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Data Protection and Data Security
    • Level 2 Certificate in Customer Service
    • Level 3 Principles of Leadership and Management

  • English and maths

    You should have a good level of English to complete the course. However, English and maths is not formally assessed as part of your course.
