South Staffordshire College helps Lichfield District Council with their live broadcast

South Staffordshire College was recently asked to bring some expertise to Lichfield District Council’s broadcasting of committee meetings. Principal Claire Boliver was approached by Tony McGovern, who is the Interim CEO at the Council and a Governor at the college, to see if the college could accommodate this request. Media technician Ethan Hanson and Media Lecturer Tarlochen Singh-Mohr from Lichfield College set up a multi-camera vision mixed live feed to the Council’s YouTube channel. Initial feedback from Cabinet Members and the Civil staff was very positive as some of them said “The broadcast looked very professional and of a very high quality”. Tarlochen Singh-Mohr told us: “This is an example of how two different organisations can work on collaborative projects and create a network for our students to help with gaining real industry knowledge. We hope we can build on this new venture and both benefit from potential new opportunities”.
