We spoke to some of our highest student achievers today to see what they thought about their results and their time at South Staffordshire College, here’s what they said.

Uniformed Public Services student, Thomas Baker achieved a Distinction* grade today (the highest grade possible from exam board) this results day. Here’s what Thomas told us about his results ‘I have now completed my first year of my level 3 public services course, the course itself was very enjoyable and allowed me to develop my own personal skills through teamwork, discipline and hard work. The college has allowed me to continue my education in a constructive way through the teachers who have a lot of dedication, this will allow me to take my career to the next stage by getting the UCAS points needed for the job I want in the future. Thank you to all the staff that have helped me throughout the year. ” Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’.

Health and Social Care extended diploma student, Vicki Smith is also celebrating success this results day after achieving an A* grade. Vicki said ‘returning to education after almost 20 years I have to say I had no idea what to expect and felt very nervous, especially learning how to write assignments again! I have to say, the staff at South Staffordshire College have been amazing how they have supported me during my time there. Nothing felt too much trouble for them. I never thought at the age of 39 I would have gained an a* leading me to be offered a place at university to study adult nursing, which has always been a dream of mine. With patience and determination it is never too late to follow your dreams’.

Kirk Hookham, Deputy Chief Executive at South Staffordshire College said “I’m incredibly proud of our students’ achievements. Today’s results are a testament to the hard work of our students and the outstanding teaching and support they receive in order to achieve the grades they have. These students have had the most challenging last 2 years given the pandemic and the effects that has had on their studies yet, despite such difficulties, our students not only caught up any ‘lost learning’, but they have also gone on to do brilliantly this year. South Staffordshire College is therefore very proud of our students and the excellent results they have achieved.”
