The Level 3 Health and Safety 3-day course is designed for supervisors and managers responsible for maintaining high health and safety standards at work. This includes those tasked with training employees, upholding standards, and fostering a positive health and safety culture. Supervisors carry both a legal and ethical duty to safeguard the well-being of their employees. This qualification empowers managers and supervisors to enhance the health and safety culture within their organization, regardless of its size or field of operation.
Throughout this course, participants will develop an understanding of health and safety’s role in the workplace and learn how to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures to protect their workforce. The course covers health and safety legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Candidates will also distinguish between common law and criminal law, as well as understand the authority of enforcement officers.
Regarding accidents and workplace-related illnesses, candidates will gain an understanding of their scope, along with methods for investigation, reporting, and prevention. The course also emphasizes the crucial role of communication within the workplace and how effective communication, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies can motivate staff to work safely and contribute to a positive health and safety culture.
