    Progress to Level 3 Counselling with Our 6-Week Course

    If you have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills through distance learning and are looking to take the next step, this engaging and insightful 6-week course is perfect for you.

    You will:

    • Develop essential counselling skills and learn how to apply them effectively.
    • Explore key counselling concepts while building self-awareness and reflective practice.
    • Enhance your communication and listening skills to better connect with others.
    • Begin to apply counselling theory to your understanding of yourself.
    • Gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your ability to work within a helping role.

    This course is ideal if you wish to progress to Level 3 Counselling and work towards a career in a helping or supportive role. While it does not qualify you as a professional counsellor, it provides a strong foundation for future training and practice.

    • Learn to use counselling skills ethically and safely in various professional and personal settings.
    • Prepare for progression to Level 3 training and continue your journey toward becoming a professional counsellor.
  • Required qualifications

    You will need to have completed an online / distance learning Level 2 counselling course to enrol on this bridging course.

    It is important to know that you will be writing regular reflective journals, so you will need a good level of English.

    Learners should be 18+.

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will gain an understanding of a range of counselling skills and learn how to use these skills effectively and safely to support others.

    You will learn to use feedback and self-reflection to develop your counselling skills.

    Through counselling skills practice/role plays you will learn how to develop your core counselling skills to assist people who are working through life’s challenges.

    You will develop the skills to be able to:

    • Apply counselling theory
    • Develop an understanding of ethical practice when using counselling
    • Be self-aware using reflective practice
  • Careers

    This qualification could lead to employment or increase employability in various careers such as health and social care work, education, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, other helping roles.

    After achieving this qualification, you could progress to:

    • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Work experience

    Your in class counselling skills role plays will be your ‘work’ experiences as you regularly practice counselling skills with your peers.

  • English and maths

    Learners will need to have a good level of English and maths basic skills as you will be writing regular self reflective journals.

  • Other important information

    You need to have an interest in supporting others and in human behaviour and be willing to take part in role-play exercises and group discussions.

    You will have weekly tasks to complete during the course. This will include writing journals, research activities, independent study which can include listening to podcasts and watching videos as well as reading etc.

    You will need:

    • Pen and notebook
    • Access to a computer
