As the UK pushes towards a net-zero economy by 2050, decarbonizing transport has become a key priority. With transport being one of the largest contributors to CO2 emissions, electrification is essential.
By August 2024, more than 1.1 million battery-electric cars were on UK roads, marking a 71% rise in EV registrations between 2022 and 2023. The country now has approximately 66,779 public charge points across 34,570 locations. However, to meet future demand, this figure will need to grow to 500,000 by 2030.
