  • Is this course for you?

    This course is designed for practising electricians to learn how to design a suitable solar photovoltaic system, including commission and handover of a system that integrates solar panels. This qualification is a requirement under the Minimum Technical Competency document for PV installers and is recognized by MCS operators as evidence of adequate training.

  • Required qualifications

    Learners must be competent electricians and have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification that enables ECS Gold Card registration. Learners will also have a BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification.

  • What skills will I develop?

    The 3-day course equips candidates to choose the most suitable solar Photovoltaic system for a property based on the client’s needs, as well as commission and hand over the system. It also covers the legal considerations related to installing these systems and offers guidance on completing and submitting all necessary notifications.

  • Careers

    You could progress to a qualification in the installation of electrical energy storage systems (battery installations).
