  • Is this course for you?

Engaging in creative activities can have a very positive impact on your overall health and wellbeing, helping you to relax and focus, thereby calming your mind and relieving stress.

Do you struggle to relax and switch off your mind from everyday stresses? Would you like to take up a new hobby that will give you some ‘me’ time and help focus on something more calming?

This course is aimed at beginners or learners who want to refresh their drawing and painting skills.

  • Required qualifications

This course is aimed at adults aged 19+.

No formal qualifications are required just an enthusiasm for the subject.

Remission of fees is available for those claiming JSA/ESA/Universal Credit or on low household income.

  • What skills will I develop?

You will be shown different techniques to try out, working at your own pace, enjoying being creative in a relaxed atmosphere.

There will be tutor demonstrations, group work and 1-2-1 support to learn how to draw and paint or to develop and grow your skills in this area.

You will use a selection of drawing pencils and watercolour and acrylic paints. There will be a theme you can work on but can also be adapted if you wish to work on an independent project. All art materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring in your own art materials.
