Staffordshire businesses urged to take advantage of funded digital skills training
March 2026
Businesses across Staffordshire are being invited to upskill their workforce with digital, AI, and IT training.
South Staffordshire College has secured funding to support local employers to strengthen their teams’ digital capabilities through short, flexible online courses designed to deliver immediate impact in the workplace.
Courses range from Microsoft Office and core digital skills through to creative software, CAD, programming and generative AI, giving businesses flexible options to upskill staff at all levels.
The bite‑sized courses, which take between 20 and 35 hours to complete, can be tailored to individual job roles and are delivered fully online, allowing staff to fit learning around existing work commitments. Thanks to the funding, courses that would usually cost between £400 and £1,000 are now available for just £99 per person, with an optional exam available at the end of the course for £25.
The funded offer is aimed at helping businesses respond to rapid changes in technology, automation and AI, and to ensure employees have the practical digital skills needed to work more efficiently and confidently in their day‑to‑day roles.
To help employers understand how the funding works and which courses may be most suitable for their teams, South Staffordshire College is hosting a free online webinar on Wednesday 24 April at 12 noon. The session will outline the range of available courses, and give businesses the opportunity to ask questions. Book your place to attend the webinar.
Adam Cross, Curriculum Manager for Computing and Digital at South Staffordshire College, said “Digital skills are no longer a ‘nice to have’ for businesses, they are essential. This funding allows employers to upskill their teams quickly, affordably, and in a way that delivers real, practical benefits in the workplace. We would encourage businesses of all sizes to take a look at what’s available and make the most of this opportunity.”
Businesses that are unable to attend the webinar can still explore the full range of courses and book directly online. To learn more about the digital courses on offer visit, our digital skills course page.
