Careers advice

Our dedicated careers team can offer you invaluable help and support to select the right course to secure the skills and knowledge needed to work in your chosen career area. We can also offer advice about the best study route for you whether that be a course or apprenticeship, full or part time study.

If you’re not sure what career path might be the best fit for you, our careers team can support you with discovering this, based on your passions and aspirations, allowing you to make an informed decision about your future and to plan your next steps.

If you are already in work and looking for a career change, or a course to help boost your skills to earn a promotion, or support applying to Higher Education, our careers team can offer impartial advice and guidance.

A career path for everyone

We have something for everyone, whatever your starting point! We offer a wide range of subject areas which you can study full-time at college or as an apprentice within the workplace, suitable for both school leavers and adults.

For adults (aged 19+) we offer a range of career boosting part time courses designed to help you to get back into work, have a taster in a new career area, or specialise in a specific career by advancing your skills. We also offer Higher Education courses accredited by Staffordshire University and the University of Wolverhampton in a range of subject areas.

Free courses for adults

The college also offers a range of level 2 distance learning courses which can be studied online for FREE (when completed within 12 weeks) in a variety of career areas such as: health and social care, children and young people, mental health, IT, digital, business, health and fitness.

Study English and maths for FREE with us if you have not achieved a GCSE grade 4/C. You can also boost your digital skills with one of our FREE digital courses. Learn the basics on our essential digital skills course, or gain specialist skills in cyber security, coding, cloud computing, networking, data and web analytics and UI/UX courses as well as Microsoft Office Specialist qualifications. At the time of publishing, these were the free digital courses on offer for everyone. As of 1st August 2022, these courses are no longer free for everyone, however depending on your individual circumstances, they could still be free. Please get in touch to discuss your personal circumstances and see if you are eligible for a free course.

Study at your local college

When you study with us, you can study at your local college. We are based in Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock and Rodbaston in Penkridge where you will be taught by tutors who are experts in their field, backed by many years of industry experience.
