  • Is this course for you?

    This course is aimed at all users of mowing equipment from simple pedestrian mowers to ride on mowing. It enables you to have a better understanding of all types of mowers and sizes and will train you in the safe use and maintenance of equipment, these will include:

    • Pedestrian control Rotary Mower
    • Pedestrian controlled cylinder mower
    • Ride on equipment

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will increase your skills and knowledge in :

    • Health and safety
    • Pre use checks
    • Safe use of machine
    • Removing and sharpening blades
    • Post use maintenance

  • Careers

    This course can form part of the horticultural operative apprenticeship as well as part of the greenkeeping and sports turf operative apprenticeships.

  • Other important information

    You must be a minimum of 16 years old. You will be asked to provide your own PPE. Machines will be provided by the college for the purpose of training and assessment.

    This work is partly based outdoors so appropriate clothing should be worn.
