    Are you 19+ and considering a career working in the travel industry but not sure if it is for you? Then this short Introduction to Travel and Tourism course is for you! You will develop an understanding of what is required for a career in the travel industry. The course is ideal for people looking to return to work or re-train in a different career. Advice and guidance on progression opportunities and qualification courses will be offered.

    The travel industry is an exciting one which allows you to travel whilst being paid at the same time. However, it can also be hard work and you will need to be prepared to work as a team, work unsociable hours and deal with some tough customers. This short introduction course will give you a taste of what a career in Travel & Tourism will involve before you commit to a full time course.

  • Required qualifications

    No formal qualifications are required just an enthusiasm for the subject.

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will finish the course with a broad understanding of the opportunities that exist in this fascinating and diverse industry. At the end of the course, you will be able to make an informed choice about the career direction that you wish to embark upon.

  • Careers

    After this course you can progress onto a qualification course to further your career.

  • English and maths

    English and maths are required if you wish to embark upon a career in Tourism; eg: you need these skills to generate quotes and itineraries. However, the generation of quotes and itineraries will not be done within this course.

  • Other important information

    Being offered at Tamworth and Lichfield campuses.

    2.5 hours per week for 4 weeks.
