  • Is this course for you?

    This course, for adults aged 19 and over, is for loan fundable AutoCAD and Inventor intermediate candidates. You’ll be looking to continue from CAD: Level 2 (funded), or wanting to get into CAD with the benefit of a funded course.

    • Available at our Cannock College on a Thursday evening.

    Cost: £1,399

  • Required qualifications

    You will need to have achieved the CAD Level 2 qualification (available at Cannock College on a Tuesday evening).

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will complete two modules on this course.

    Details of the module content for AutoCAD:

    • CAD: AutoCAD 2D Advanced
    • CAD: AutoCAD in 3D

    In the Inventor module you cover topics such as:

    • generating advanced assemblies
    • Sheet Metal and Weldments
    • mating and fastening in complex parts/assemblies
    • table-driven parts and assemblies
    • photorealistic presentation
    • Inventor Studio
    • animation creation
    • export
  • Careers

    After successfully completing this course, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to use AutoCAD, or AutoCAD and Inventor at more advanced levels.

    This could well help to start you on, or enhance your current path, towards a career using 3D CAD for product/mechanical design or in the construction industry in general. You can opt to progress to other CAD Room courses on completing this course e.g. Solidworks, 3ds Max, Fusion360, or Revit.

  • English and maths

    Whilst at South Staffordshire College, you will be given the opportunity to improve your maths and English skills by continuing to study at GCSE or Functional Skill level. We have a great team working alongside your main course tutors with the skills and knowledge to improve your maths and English skills.

  • Other important information

    You are required to purchase safety boots, work gear and details of these will be discussed at interview. All other equipment such as power tools and safety aids, PPE, are supplied by the college as required.

    Additional home study will be required as part of this course.
