    In this comprehensive cake decorating course, students will learn the art of decorating cakes using five different mediums: buttercream, chocolate, sugar paste, marzipan, and flower paste. This course is designed for beginners and intermediate cake decorators who want to expand their skills and create beautiful and professional-looking cakes.

    Throughout the course, students will receive hands-on instruction and guidance from an experienced cake decorator. They will have the opportunity to practice their skills and create their own designs under the supervision of their instructor. By the end of the course, students will have gained a solid foundation in cake decorating and be able to create stunning and unique cakes using a range of mediums.

  • Required qualifications

    No formal qualifications are required just an enthusiasm for the subject.

  • What skills will I develop?

    Course Objectives:

    • Understand the properties and uses of buttercream, chocolate, sugarpaste, marzipan, and flower paste in cake decorating and how to store them.
    • Master basic cake decorating techniques such as covering a cake with buttercream and adding simple piping techniques.
    • Develop advanced cake decorating skills such as creating decorative elements with chocolate and creating intricate sugar paste and marzipan decorations.
    • Create lifelike flowers and foliage using flower paste.
    • Gain confidence in their cake decorating abilities and create stunning and unique cakes using a range of mediums.
  • Careers

    After this course you can progress onto a qualification course to further your career. There may be an opportunity to enhance your skills the following year with further masterclasses.

    English and maths is embedded within the course.

  • Other important information

    Students will be provided with a list of equipment and ingredients they will need to bring to each session.

    Please ensure you have an apron to wear.
