    Do you want to improve your digital skills and feel more confident when working on computers or online? This course in Essential Digital Skills is a great start to learn the fundamentals of computer-based work including creating and editing information, sending emails and buying online. You’ll also be supported to improve your CV and get you ready for future interviews to develop your employability skills. As an entry level vocational qualification in Essential Digital Skills, you will gain the all the essential skills needed to boost your CV, secure that dream job role, or move into further training such as an apprenticeship or trainee scheme.

  • Required qualifications

    No previous qualifications are required to start this course, you will build on your skills and gain new qualifications throughout the 5 weeks of learning and be ready to progress towards the next steps to #CreateYourCareer with extra knowledge and confidence.

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will gain essential skills and knowledge to begin your journey into working in the Computer and Digital sector. This Level 1 Award qualification is made up of full vocational units where you will learn:

    • Using devices and handling information
    • Creating and editing
    • E-commerce and buying online

  • Careers

    This qualification can be used towards your foundation level studies and can also help you progress into employment. You’ll find that there is a high demand for good digital skills, which will be helpful for you once you have completed your training. You can progress into a wide range of roles within:

    • Customer service
    • Sales and Marketing
    • IT and Computer work

    As an option, you could also progress onto a Level 2+ qualification to further your skills and boost your chances of securing your dream job.

  • English and maths

    As a student at South Staffordshire College, you will have the opportunity to complete your maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills.

  • Other important information

    You will need a folder, pen and paper when attending each class, both in-person and lessons delivered remotely.
