  • Is this course for you?

    Are you looking to learn new skills and ready to get into work? If you have an interest in customer service or retail, you could have your qualification in just 5 weeks! This course will give you all the essential skills for working in a customer facing environment including dealing with queries and communicating with customers, alongside interview and employability skills. As a Level 1 vocational qualification in Principles of Customer Service, you will gain the all the essential skills needed to boost your CV, secure that dream job role, or move into further training such as an apprenticeship or trainee scheme.

  • Required qualifications

    No previous qualifications are required to start this course, you will build on your skills and gain new qualifications throughout the 5 weeks of learning and be ready to progress towards the next steps to #CreateYourCareer with extra knowledge and confidence.

  • What skills will I develop?

    This qualification covers the essential knowledge required to deliver reliable customer service through an understanding of customer expectations and needs. It also provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to deal effectively with customer queries, problems, and complaints.

    You will learn the essential knowledge of customer service to increase your skills and essential understanding. You will learn how to deal with customers whilst managing their expectations and needs. Once you finish the course, you will have the knowledge to confidently deal with customer queries, problems and complaints.

  • Careers

    With your new qualification, you could progress onto these types of customers service-based roles:

    • Call centre operative
    • Shop assistant
    • Hair salon assistant
    • Bank assistant

    To help increase your skills and job opportunities once you have completed your course, you could also move straight onto gaining onto a further qualification in:

    • Level 1 Certificate in Principles of Customer Service (RQF)
    • Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service (RQF) or the
    • Intermediate Apprenticeship in Customer Service (Level 2)
  • English and maths

    As a student at South Staffordshire College, you will have the opportunity to complete your maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills.

  • Other important information

    You will need a folder, pen and paper when attending each class, both in-person and lessons delivered remotely.
