    This course is ideal for learners, aged 19 or above, who wish to develop their understanding of specific learning difficulties and the principles of supporting individuals to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

    This course would benefit anyone working, or looking for work, with individuals who have specific learning difficulties. You might be a teacher or teaching assistant who is looking to further your understanding of Specific Learning Difficulties, or an employer who is looking for ways to support your work force.

    The units and topics included are ideal for learners who are looking to support individuals with SpLDs in any environment, be it at home, in the workplace, or in schools.

    • Courses are delivered as distance learning, allowing you to choose when and where you study
    • There are no exams – just assessments at the end of each unit
    • Courses must be completed within a 12 week window
    • Personal tutors are assigned to ensure you have the support needed to succeed.
  • Required qualifications

    No qualifications required, however, you will need a good level of English to enable you to complete this course.

  • What skills will I develop?

    With approximately 15% of people being affected by Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), it is important for individuals to develop their understanding of what SpLDs are and how they can affect the lives of those impacted by them. From dyslexia and dyscalculia to ADHD and DCD, there are many types of SpLD and some people are affected by more than one. This course will help you identify ways of supporting individuals with dyslexia and other SpLDs.

    By completing the course, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of Specific Learning Difficulties.

    The course is split into five manageable units:

    Unit 1: Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties

    Unit 2: Understanding the effects of Specific Learning Difficulties

    Unit 3: Understanding the diagnosis of Specific Learning Difficulties

    Unit 4: Understanding supporting individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties

    Unit 5: Understanding the context of Specific Learning Difficulties

    At the end of the course you will gain a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties.
