- About Us
Get the new year off to the best possible start with an exciting range of courses starting this January at South Staffordshire College. Ideal for school leavers who feel they chose the wrong route in September and adults who want to enhance their career prospects or explore something new, the courses give learners the chance to gain recognised qualifications, new skills and an accelerated route into careers, further learning or an apprenticeship.
Available to those aged 16 plus and delivered at the College’s campuses in Tamworth and Lichfield, these are courses that combine related subjects together allowing you to specialise later on. Four different vocational studies courses are available in business, IT and digital media; creative industries such as film, art and performance; sport, travel and public services; electrical installation and engineering. Courses can be completed in six months and are designed to pave the way for progression to higher level study, apprenticeships or employment.
Fast track courses…
Fast track courses are designed to get you qualified and skilled quickly. They are available to those aged 16 and over and delivered at the College’s campuses in Tamworth, Lichfield and Rodbaston. There are a wide range of these courses including animal care, construction, plumbing, horticulture, horse care, dog grooming, floristry, hair and beauty and care. These courses can be completed by the end of June allowing you to progress to the next level quickly.
At Rodbaston and Tamworth, our pathways into education, apprenticeships and training route is also available to learners that would like to tailor their experience by blending smaller elements of different subjects together. You may want to try motor vehicle, construction, care or hair and beauty courses. Each learner on our pathways programme will work alongside a course tutor to develop an individual programme tailored to meet their needs.
All college courses are free for 16-19 year olds. Adults may also be eligible to study for free depending on their previous qualifications and employment status.
