Saturday 18th November 2017.

Looking for a flexible, affordable way to gain a university level qualification? Want to gain a degree to boost your earning potential and pave the way for a rewarding career? Whether you’re currently studying for your A Levels and thinking about your next steps or are an adult who has set your sights on that next big promotion, South Staffordshire College can help.

On Saturday 18th November, the College will be opening the doors of their Lichfield Campus for a dedicated Higher Education open event. Taking place from 10am – 1pm, the event is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the range of university level qualifications that are available at the College’s campuses in Tamworth, Lichfield and Rodbaston.

Existing HE students will be on hand to share their stories and give a valuable insight into student life @southstaffs and the College’s expert staff will also be available to answer any questions about student finance, study modes and how to ‘sign-up’ for September via UCAS. As you’d expect, visitors will also be able to tour the facilities and explore their options to find the right course for them.

Working in partnership with Staffordshire University and the University of Wolverhampton, South Staffordshire College offer a wide range of qualifications, from HNDs to Foundation Degrees, to BA and BSc Hons. Students can choose from qualifications in subjects including Event Management, Computing Science, Film & Television Technology, Performing Arts, Music Performance Technologies, Engineering, Early Childhood Studies, PGCE, Animal Science with Animal Behaviour and ILM Leadership and Management.

With the option to study some courses on a part-time basis and fees that are often over £2000 less than most universities, Higher Education has never been more accessible.
Whatever you choose to study, you’ll be taught by industry experts with a wealth of experience, so it’s no surprise that success rates continue to rise and currently stand at an impressive 96%.

The College also offer a range of Higher Apprenticeships that are perfect for those who want to gain higher level qualifications whilst also earning a salary. Available in subjects including landbased engineering, business and accountancy, advanced manufacturing engineering and care leadership and management – Higher Apprenticeships are equivalent to the level of a Foundation Degree.

If you’d like to study for a higher level course but don’t have the required qualifications, the College also offer a range of Access to Higher Education courses too. These full-time, one year courses are ideal for those who want to retrain for an exciting new career journey or re-introduce themselves to studying before progressing onto a Degree.

Speaking about the forthcoming event, South Staffordshire College’s Higher Education Manager Sharon Bedlow says “Gaining a University level qualification can transform people’s career opportunities and we’re delighted that an increasing number of students are choosing to gain their qualifications with us. We offer a fantastic range of courses that are linked to industries where people with high level skills are highly sought after. We’re thrilled to be able to offer people the chance to gain the skills that employers demand in a more cost-effective and flexible way and are very proud of the achievements of our students. We’re looking forward to welcoming more prospective students to our Open event on 18th November.”
