    Are you looking to learn a new skill or just wanting to be able to develop your own make up skills for your own application or for friends and family? Are you unsure if the beauty industry is for you but want to take a look without committing long term?

    Our 1 day introduction course will allow you to do one or all of the above and can be the first step on a journey to an exciting new career/pastime.

    You will learn key skills and techniques that will help you to apply make up like a professional.

  • Required qualifications

    There are no requirements for entry onto this taster course – it is aimed at beginners, although can also serve as a refresh for individuals who have not done nail extensions in a while.

  • What skills will I develop?

    Across the taster day you will learn and develop the basic skills and techniques within the application of make up from preparations to the finished product. You will also learn more about the industry and the various opportunities available to prepare and develop your work ready skills (if you are keen to explore a career in the beauty industry).

    In addition, you will pick up a number of key tips that will support you in applying your own make up or doing this for friends/family for many special occasions such as weddings.

  • Careers

    Once you have completed our taster course you may wish to move on to our Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Therapy in order to pursue a career in the Beauty industry.

    This could be the first step in one of the following careers:

    • Self-employed Beauty Therapist
    • Beauty salon therapist
    • Hospital/care homes professional

    The beauty sector is steadily growing within the West Midland’s currently employing around 4,000, this is expected to grow around 2.6% within the next 3 years.
