  • Is this course for you?

    Are you looking to learn a new skill or just wanting to be able to develop your own hair styling skills in order to style your own hair or the hair of friends and family? Are you unsure if the hair industry is for you but want to take a look without committing long term?

    Our 1 day introduction course will allow you to do one or all of the above and can be the first step on a journey to an exciting new career/pastime.

    You will learn how to use your creative skills to complete evening styles and learn new techniques to create curls, plaits and much more.

  • Required qualifications

    There are no requirements for entry onto this taster course – it is aimed at beginners, although can also serve as a refresh for all.

  • What skills will I develop?

    Across the taster day you will learn and develop the basic skills and techniques to allow you to put hair up into evening/prom styles that you can use on family and friends.

  • Careers

    There are currently nearly 9,000 jobs for hairdressing within the West midlands and this is predicted to grow in the next 3 years, making it a good time to pursue a career in hairdressing.

    This course will give you a taste of the industry and may start you on the journey towards a new career. The next steps could be enrolment on one of our part time L2 hairdressing qualifications to not only learn more about the skills and techniques but to project you towards a new career.

    The average salary for a Junior Hair Stylist is £15,555 per year in England, which meets the national average. This will depend on experience, age and area.
