You don’t need any qualifications, just the need to gain digital skills to support you with employment opportunities and daily living.

What skills will I develop?

Step into Digital is designed to support you move forward with skills you will use on a daily basis and to gain employment. In the world of work, digital skills can be vital from till work in retail, customer service IT skills, warehousing and scanners. Having the confidence to use this equipment is key. You will also learn how to navigate your way around a computer, CV, job searching, spreadsheets and finance, online interviews, IT safety and security and your own LinkedIn profile.

As part of our Step Up programme you will also be supported in:

• One-to-one coaching
• Personal action plan
• Confidence building and self-motivation
• Specific training in the career path you have chosen
• CV and application letter writing
• Job search and application form support
• Managing finances, including Universal Credit
• Interview techniques
• Practical skills and training development in real life social action projects
• IT and computers skills
• On-going support after returning to work

Careers

Once you have completed this course you could join our full time provision or gain an apprenticeship or go straight into employment, the STEP UP programme helps you to make the right choice for your future

English and maths

Whilst at South Staffordshire college, you will be given the opportunity to improve your maths and English skills by continuing to study at GCSE or Functional Skill level. We have a great team working alongside your main course tutors with the skills and knowledge to improve your maths and English skills. This will be through our 19 plus provision.
