  • Is this course for you?

    The qualification is suitable for learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of allergy awareness. It is designed for those who wish to understand allergies, the causes of allergies and what to do in case of an allergic reaction.

    Students should also have a keen interest in allergy awareness. Basic computer skills to operate the Online Learning Platform are advisable.

    • You will gain a nationally recognised qualification.
    • This course is delivered via distance learning, allowing you to choose when and where you study
    • Personal tutors are assigned to you to ensure you have the support needed to succeed.
  • Required qualifications

    You will need to have at least a level 2 qualification to follow this course. You will need to demonstrate commitment and motivation to work through the specially prepared distance-learning materials.

  • What skills will I develop?

    There are two mandatory units and you have the option to follow three different pathways, depending on the sector or industry of your choice. These sectors are broken into units, including the children and education (Unit 3), the health and social care sector (Unit 4), and the service industry (Unit 5).

    Course content:

    Unit 1 – allergens, allergies and intolerances

    Unit 2 – Food labelling and packaging

    Plus 1 unit from the following optional units:

    • Allergy awareness for those working with children
    • Allergy awareness for those working in Adult Health and social Care
    • Allergy awareness for those working in the Service Sector

    Please be aware that you cannot complete more than one optional unit.

  • Careers

    This qualification is designed for those who wish gain the knowledge of Allergy Awareness. It will be particularly valuable to those who work in a service sector, with children or adults.

  • English and maths

    Your work will be assessed for appropriate English and maths; corrections will be identified, and any development points will be highlighted to you.
