  • Is this course for you?

    This course is for adult learners who are thinking of enrolling on the English GCSE qualification course. This short introduction course gets you ready for the qualification course and you will be assessed to what level you are working towards.

    The benefits of understanding Maths and English is important to our everyday lifestyle and in the workplace. To gain a better understanding of both these subjects can improve your future job prospects.

  • Required qualifications

    Level 2 Functional Skills.

  • What skills will I develop?

    Learners will develop and improve their English skills before they move onto the qualification course. Students will learn a variety of different topics such as how to identify and use nouns, adjectives, and adverbs in sentences, writing letters, notes and much more.

    Students will also develop and improve their communication skills, build-up their self-esteem and confidence along with making new friends.

  • Careers

    Upon completion of this course, learners can progress towards English GCSE qualification course.

  • Other important information

    The course is free.

    Learners have to be adults aged 19 or over.

    A pen, pencil and notebook are required, but not essential.

    The course runs for 4 weeks, one day a week for 2.5 hours per week. Before you start the course, you will do an initial assessment to decide what level of work is best for you to do. The tutor will always demonstrate and explain what is required. Learners will be given worksheets and some homework given to do where necessary for practice.
