  • Is this course for you?

    This course is designed to introduce leaners to skills and knowledge that allow for an understanding of marketing theory and the application of these through a digital platform.

    The skills learnt will provide an understanding of marketing techniques and requirements for successful campaigns and will provide knowledge of copyrighting, design and honing a selling point.

    You will also learn about user profiling, markets and demographics and well as design thinking and ideas generation techniques to tap into this market and applying these techniques in producing low-fi rapid prototyping and to a digital platform to create a campaign that will influence, entice and engage.

    The course will centre on the creation of a useable digital artefact (a marketing campaign) of a theme of your choosing that will have to take an end client and customers’ needs into consideration. Aspects of collaborative design and critical analysis will be applied to allow learners to hone their craft and to work towards designing and developing an innovative and creative digital marketing campaign.

  • Required qualifications

    No formal qualifications are required, but an understanding of computing, graphic or web design would be beneficial.

  • What skills will I develop?

    • An understanding of the fundamentals of marketing
    • Development of calls to action, selling messages and benefits not features
    • Target markets and demographics
    • How to apply digital technology to make the most out of your marketing
    • The use of technology to analyse, amend or grow your campaigns
  • Careers

    This course is intended to provide you with the principles of marketing theories and how to apply these to create digital campaigns.

    This course could be taken further via FE and HE study or applied to your own company or web presence or personal work.

  • English and maths

    There is no formal qualification in English or maths required for this qualification however an exception of a good level competency in these areas is expected.

  • Other important information

    This is a short course (3 hours a week) running over seven weeks (taking into consideration holidays) with a total of 21 hours’ worth of face to face teaching.

    It is expected, if required that learners will work on tasks and assignments in their own time to assist in putting together the successful completion of learning objectives for this course.
