    The use of additive manufacturing (AM), or 3D printing, has rapidly progressed in recent years. It is now much more than a tool for producing parts and instead, can be used to unlock a wealth of business opportunities.

    Our Additive Manufacturing course will take you on a deep dive into additive manufacturing to understand how it can form a business at three levels: how to adapt the business model, create new products, and how to set up the 3D printer to create new materials through printing.

    • Available at our Cannock College on a Tuesday evening.

    Anyone with an interest in 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing.

  • What skills will I develop?

    By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Understand which Additive Manufacturing Technologies are existing
    • Understand how your business can take advantage of Additive Manufacturing
    • Learn about the history of 3D printing
    • Fully understand different AM processes, materials and applications
    • Gain an overview of where and how AM has been used to create alternative solutions
    • Get you to think about how you could use AM in your business
    • Understand the processes involved in designing a part for AM

    After successfully completing this course, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to understand the varied uses of 3D printers and their potential use within businesses.

  • English and maths

    Whilst at South Staffordshire College, you will be given the opportunity to improve your maths and English skills by continuing to study at GCSE or Functional Skill level. We have a great team working alongside your main course tutors with the skills and knowledge to improve your maths and English skills.

  • Other important information

    You are required to purchase safety boots, work gear and details of these will be discussed at interview. All other equipment such as power tools and safety aids, PPE, are supplied by the college as required.
