    The course will provide technical and creative skills to be honed into a portfolio piece for work suited for the gaming industry or animation sectors.

    The core teaching elements the course provides will focus on the development of skills based around the merging of creative and technical aspects and the necessity for leaners to understand the need of style, aesthetics and world-building and how these creative elements work in conjunction with software and digital environment.

    The work developed on the course will encompass the creation of a digital artefact that show your initial ideas, research, design/development (mood board, mind mapping) and application of these creative decisions into a 3D environment

  • Required qualifications

    No formal qualifications are required, but an understanding of computing, games and design would be beneficial.

  • What skills will I develop?
    1. How to design character and environments
    2. Prototyping and proof of concept design
    3. Industry context and application (case studies and example) Understanding of 3D environments
    4. Deployment of a character or model into a 3D environment
    5. Understanding of the production pipe-line and technical issues (render time for example)
  • Careers

    This course is intended to provide an understanding the application of 3D models into a digital environment – these skills can be adapted and applied towards further FE or HE study or used within development of your own game, advertising or design.
