  • Is this course for you?

    Get a taste of working in the tech industry, learn the fundamentals of coding with Python, web development with HTML and CSS, and how to work with professional tools like VSC, Slack, GitHub, Trello and agile principles.

  • Required qualifications

    No previous coding experience is required, just a willingness to learn something new, a little time to practice and a basic understanding of how to use a computer.

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will be introduced to the core principles of modern software development, an introduction to programming and web development using project-based immersive learning approach. The core elements will take the form of:

    • The fundamentals of coding with Python
    • Web development with HTML and CSS
    • To be able to work with professional tools like Visual Studio Code, Slack, GitHub, Trello and agile principles
    • To provide employer focused tech talks
    • Create a Python text-based adventure game

    Once completed, you will be awarded a Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills in Open Systems and Enterprise, accredited by the independent awarding body, The Learning Machine.

  • Careers

    After completing the Develop: Coding course, you are one step closer to your dream job in tech.

    You can continue your training on the 12-week Master Software Bootcamp, which will explore more advanced development topics and give you the skills you need to be a work-ready junior developer, or progress directly into a junior developer role or apprenticeship.

  • English and maths

    English and maths are embedded throughout this course.

  • Other important information

    If you are studying remotely through our Virtual Learning Environment, you will need access to a computer or laptop with mic and webcam.

    The assessment within this qualification is a digital portfolio.

    This is a full time course, running 9:30 – 17:30 Monday – Friday for 3-weeks.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • You must be aged 19+ when starting the course.
    • As a learner you must have lived in European Economic Area (including UK) for the last 3 years.

    The course is likely to be free of charge if you meet one of the following criteria:

    • If you are studying your first full level 2 qualification in a similar subject.
    • If you are unemployed and in receipt of any form of benefits (excluding Child Tax Credits) and/or working earning £18K or less per year (this will need to be evidenced on application).
