    You are already working in welding and fabrication industries and are looking to develop your skills further, to increase your responsibilities and knowledge, then this course could be the one for you.

    The qualifications at Level 2 are designed for those wishing to build on introductory skills acquired at Level 1.

  • What skills will I develop?

    To achieve the level 2 certificate in welding skills (3268-20), learners must achieve both of the following units;

    • 201 Manual Metal Arc welding
    • 205 Metal Inert Gas welding
  • Careers

    Once you have completed this course you could join our full time provision or gain an apprenticeship or go straight into employment, the STEP UP programme helps you to make the right choice for your future.

  • English and maths

    Whilst at South Staffordshire college, you will be given the opportunity to improve your maths and English skills by continuing to study at GCSE or functional skill level. We have a great team working alongside your main course tutors with the skills and knowledge to improve your maths and English skills.

  • Other important information

    You are required to purchase safety boots, work gear and details of these will be discussed at interview. All other equipment such as power tools and safety aids, PPE, are supplied by the college as required.
