Business Start- Up Academy (Delivered by Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce)

Required qualifications

There are no formal entry requirements to attend this course, although it is beneficial if you have an entrepreneurial mind set and a flair and passion for Business. If you choose to complete the course online, you will need a computer or a laptop with access to the internet. You will need to be able to commit additional time to the course, as there will be some work to do independently.

What skills will I develop?

A series of workshops will provide learners with a real perception into what is involved to successfully start a business. Experienced business advisors will support you to develop an effective plan that will help you to test your product or service and look at ways to make improvements or amendments where necessary to help you secure a successful business. You just need to come up with the idea!

Workshops will cover the following topics:

• Business Basics- Company Formations, Taxation, VAT
• Business Planning – Creating a basic business plan
• Marketing Planning- Creating a basic marketing plan
• Developing Networking and Sales Skills
• Business Finances- Basic Cash flow Forecasting, Personal Survival Budgets and Funding
