  • Is this course for you?

    This course is an ideal foundation to gain a variety of IT skills that develop your use of computers, associated hardware, software, and mobile IT devices.

    The course also supports user’s awareness towards that of computer security and privacy which is of increasing importance, be it in your personal use of computing, or that for use in industry and as an employee.

  • Required qualifications

    There are no entry requirements, however students should already have some basic computing skills from which to build from, or from having progressed from one of our L1 introductory courses.

  • What skills will I develop?

    Students must achieve 10 credits from a range of units which may include the following:

    • Data Management Software
    • Desktop Publishing Software
    • IT Security for Users
    • Improving Productivity Using IT
  • Careers

    The programme can support you to re-engage in learning and break down barriers to returning to the workplace. However so many jobs now require an element of basic IT practices, so this course very much supports the foundation skills required for many sectors of employment.

    This could lead to becoming a Business administrator in a variety of sectors including Travel and Tourism, Sport, Leisure and Recreation, Retail, Health, Public Services and Care Arts, Media and Publishing or a range of roles and jobs within the service industries.
