    Are you looking for to embark on a new career pathway? Are you looking to learn new skills within beauty therapy
    Are you currently working in the industry and are looking to upskill? Our Award in providing pedicure treatments could be the course for you.

    The course is suitable for both beginners and those who already have a background in the beauty therapy area and would like to upskill/refresh. The course will focus on developing your pedicure skills/techniques, client communications and underpinning knowledge. This is also the perfect follow on course after studying our nail technology award, helping you to build on your knowledge and work with natural nails.

     

  • Required qualifications

    There are no requirements for entry onto this qualification.

  • What skills will I develop?

    This course has specifically been designed to help develop your practical skills within pedicure treatments.  Across the course you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practices in a salon environment and how to promote client care and communications in beauty related industries.  You will learn key pedicure skills to include care of the nails, foot massage and application of polish on natural nails.   You will also have the opportunity to focus on the development of wider skills in a beauty therapy or nail setting, such as, working with others and problem solving. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.

  • Careers

    Once you have completed your Level 2 Award in providing pedicure treatments, you could look to build your skills further with one of our other short courses in beauty (such as nail technology or manicure treatments) or even pursue one of our full-time programmes. The course will also provide you with opportunities to pursue a career within the industry as outlined below.

    Self-employed

    • Beauty salon
    • Retail and training
    • Cruise liners
    • Photographic or media work

    The beauty sector is steadily growing within the West Midland’s currently employing around 4,000 people, this is expected to grow around 2.6% within the next 3 years.

  • English and maths

    English and maths qualifications are an integral part of the working world and will help you prosper. If you do not have English or maths qualification at Grade 4 (Grade C) then the college is here to help. You will have the opportunity to take an additional course if over 19 where you will be assisted through the maths or English qualification, completing the GSCE exam at the end of the academic year. Within our qualification development of maths and English will be embedded into each of the sessions and will help to develop your confidence in dealing with a number of core skills, such as; costs of treatments, effective communication with clients, timings for treatments and the taking bookings.
