    This self-guided course in Adobe Premiere-Pro introduces learners to the industry-standard tool for video editing.

    This course will provide you with all of the necessary learning materials required to study from home, expanding your understanding of the Adobe suite and specifically how to use Premiere-Pro for the creation and editing of video footage for your own films, YouTube or Social Media channels.

    The course will provide you with skills in areas such as editing and formatting shot video footage, importing, and setting up your project, timelines, synching video and audio and correctly formatting your work for export.

  • Required qualifications

    No formal qualifications are required, but an understanding of computing, media and video production would be beneficial but not essential.

    You will also need a computer that can run and compile video and image content and being able to run this software effectively.

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will develop in-depth knowledge of Adobe Premiere-Pro functions and tools that will support you in the production of professional looking video content. The learning material for this course will be online, but you will be allocated an online tutor who will provide guidance on starting-up and course when will then be accessible via email throughout the duration of your enrolment for troubleshooting queries.

    Aspects of the course will cover the following:

    • Correctly importing and setting up your video content to allow formatting to your own requirements.
    • How to effectively use timelines and how to cut up and re-arrange your video content.
    • How to integrate other Adobe packages such as how to import images from Photoshop or post-produced work from After-Effects.
    • An understanding of how to work with video and audio formatting.
    • Video transitions, layering, cutting and composition.
    • How to effectively work in outputting work for own video needs.

    You will develop in-depth knowledge of Premiere-Pro functionality and its creative tools that will support the production of professionally created video artefacts.

    You will also learn the theory, processes, and shortcuts to improve your productivity.

  • Careers

    There is a formal industry recognised qualification attached to this course that could lead you into a role that could be focused video editing.

  • English and maths

    English: Learners will develop verbal communication skills through class activities and discussions. Their spelling and grammar will be met through completion of exercises within the online learning environment.

    Maths: Learners will develop confidence in maths through creating and editing skills in this software.

  • Other important information

    On successful completion of this course, attempts at practice exam and completion of the certification exam, certification is awarded by directly by Adobe.

    • Virtual / Online teaching hours: 80-100 approx – self study
    • Teams catch-up: 2 hours
