    Have you ever wanted to take your photos to a new level, adjusting the colours or tweaking out or editing unwanted elements? This course intends to introduce Adobes Photoshop to learners that will provide you with these skills to do this as well as a whole lot more.

    The course will not only teach you photographic manipulation, colour theory and how to design for screen and print but how to professionally manipulate text, layers and digital content to allow you to produce posters, flyers and so much more.

  • Required qualifications

    No formal qualifications are required, but you will need to have a home computer that can run this piece Adobe software, so you are able to practice your developing skills from home.

  • What skills will I develop?

    You will develop in-depth knowledge of Photoshop functionality and its creative tools that will support the production of professionally created design artefacts. The learning material for this course will be online, but you will be allocated an online tutor who will provide guidance on start-up and then accessible via email throughout the duration of your enrolment for troubleshooting queries.

    Aspects of the course will cover the following:

    • Image formats (JPEG, TIFF, EPS) and colour formatting CMYK and RGB
    • How to use tools such as Clone, Blend and Smooth to retouch photographs
    • How to integrate other Adobe packages such as how to export into other packages such as In-Design or After-Effects.
    • The use of effects such as emboss, texture, and drop shadows to enhance work
    • How to effectively use layers in your composition
    • How to effectively work in outputting work to industry standard printing

    You will also learn the theory, processes, and shortcuts to improve your productivity.

  • Careers

    There is a formal industry recognised qualification attached to this course that could lead you into a role that could be focused around graphic design, printing or marketing.

  • English and maths

    English: Learners will develop verbal communication skills through class activities and discussions. Their spelling and grammar will be met through completion of exercises within the online learning environment.

    Maths: Learners will develop confidence in maths through creating and editing skills in this software.

  • Other important information

    On successful completion of this course, attempts at practice exam and completion of the certification exam, certification is awarded by directly by Adobe.
